Huron Rotary Club Offers New Service Opportunity for Students

The Rotary Club of Huron in partnership with Huron City Schools is pleased to announce the creation of Huron Interact Club, a service club for students ranging in age from 13-18.  Interact is a Rotary International-sponsored nonprofit, nonpolitical, international service organization of secondary school-age youth.  There are more than 10,700 Interact clubs in 113 countries with some 206,000 members.  Interact provides leadership opportunities to youth through local community, school, and international service projects.  Participating students will be asked to select one local community, one school-related, and one international public service project to be completed each year.  Students may also participate in fund raisers to support their projects.  Students gain valuable service hours with every project.  Through their efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of developing leadership skills, demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others, understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work and advancing international understanding and goodwill.

Interested students may join Interact by contacting Chad Carter, Principal, McCormick Middle School and submitting a sign up form.  Forms are available in the McCormick business office.  All students who sign up before May 2015 will be cited as “Founding Members”.

Rotary Club of Huron Ohio would like to thanks Dennis Muratori, Chad Carter, and Scott Matheny (Huron Schools) for their support of this joint initiative for the students of Huron.
